General

EN26 IS A HIGH-STRENGTH NICKEL-CHROMIUM-MOLYBDENUM ALLOY STEEL, SUPPLIED HOT ROLLED AND HEAT TREATED TO ‘W’ CONDITION. WITH A TYPICAL TENSILE RANGE OF 1075–1225 N/MM², IT OFFERS GREATER STRENGTH THAN EN24 (817M40) OR 826M31. THIS GRADE PROVIDES EXCELLENT TOUGHNESS, DUCTILITY, AND SHOCK RESISTANCE. IT CAN BE FLAME OR INDUCTION HARDENED AND IS ALSO SUITABLE FOR NITRIDING. EN26 MAINTAINS GOOD IMPACT VALUES EVEN WHEN TEMPERED BETWEEN 300–550°C AND PERFORMS WELL AT LOW TEMPERATURES.

SUITABLE FOR GEARS, SHAFTS, PINS, FASTENERS AND STUDS, ROLLERS AND CRANKSHAFTS, ETC.

MOSTLY COMMERCIALY AVAILABLE IN THE ANNEALED CONDITION,BUT OCCASIONALLY FOUND IN THE HARDENED & TEMPERED
